    Smile Relative Referencing

    Hi we use $ to make either row or column absolute reference in a cell. However I want to force a relative referencing of a column across row. Let me try to explain. when A$1 is move to next cell to the right it --> b$1. Is there a way to make it b$1 when the cell is move 1 row down? Thank for you help and look forward the response.

    Using the Indirect and Address functions, you can mimic that:

    e.g. =INDIRECT(ADDRESS(1,ROW(A1))) copied down will give results from A1, B1, C1, etc...
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
