Smile need help on a linking problem

I have an excel sheet(lets call it formula) that is setup up with multiple formulas. I link this sheet to another excel file to update information on a daily basis. The excel file(lets call it info) that is being linked to is updated with information everyday and the filename is save to the current_date. Just recently I tried to link the latest info to the formula and it locks up excel with 97 to 100 cpu usage. Usually it would show the calculate on the bottom left hand corner of the excel app, but it isn't showing anything now.
Here is what I have done to try and trouble shoot this issue-

    -Repair excel
    -Reinstall excel
    -Delete the user's local profile
-Tried to link a date on the info sheet that I know worked before.
-Copied both formula and info to another person's pc to try and update the source there.

None of these steps have solved the issue. Is it possible that the formula sheet link could be come corrupted to where I have to recreate the worksheet? Is there anyway to fix a corrupted link? Thanks for any and all of the help.

    Something Else To Try

I don't know if this will help, but it shouldn't do any harm and might enable you to get into the file for a proper look.

In EXCEL Tools>Options select the Calculation tab

set Calculation to Manual and deselect Update remote references.

This may allow you to at least load the file without it failing, you might then be able to find and correct the offending cell.

    Another Thought

Do you have any macros in either of the workbooks?

Try starting up with macros disabled.

    good luck

Thanks for ideas, but none of these worked. I did go to a pc with a faster processor and it is only running at 50%. When I click on update when it comes up it starts updating, but then says it is not able to load a link.
