updating file from info on other file

Have an excel spreadsheet for work that has a listing of names, soc#, work assignments and classes our people are taking plus other columns of info. About every 6 mos an excel list for school classes our workers are takingcomes out with up dated classes assignments. For work scheduling purposes, we want to keep our classes that our people are taking up to date so there is no conflict with work assignments and school. Will try to make my situation clearer by showing the work schedule and the class schedule


Work Schedule:



SOC NUMBER -Name-job-days off -class(es)





Note on above spreadsheet will want to up date the class column list, i.e. school classes that are now ending should come off and new school class assignment should go on. Note is some instances person may have more than one class and some people will not be doing school at all. Note all class end simultaneously and then new ones begin. From the school column below want to put the time in, time out and day columns from the school spreadsheet all into the column for school on the work rosterwhich is just one cell


Below is the spreadsheet with the info for new classes--note there will be some names on this spreadsheet that do not appear on my work spreadsheet. and the names may be repeated if the person is taking more than one class.

So from the example, want to take the info from the class, time in, time out, and day( of the week class is being held) and insert it into the column listed as class in my spreadsheet for work assignments if the person listed on the school list is also on the work spreadsheet. . Hopefully can be done with out macros but if necessary will try that route.
