Leading Zeros Problem

Hi guys,

I am building a Microsoft access database and I am trying to export data from excel to access. In one of my cells at excel, I have data that starts with a leading zero "0044444444" When I export this cell data ,and due to dummy excel conversion, this leading zeros are omitted. I have changed the cell property and I used a custom number format "00000000000" after I did that the zeros appear but when I import the data they are omitted again. These number are the primary key in my MS access database so I have to keep the zeros.

In Excel turn it into a TEXT field and manipulate it so you have leading zeroes

Thank you for your respond. I go around it and I found the solution. The solution you give me is working when your typing the data but when you are copy and past it doesn't work in Excel. My solution was to copy and past this data into access after changing the format (custom 00000000) using copy and past not import, then you do the reserve operation copying from access and pasting at excel. When I did that the import was find and the leading zero were included.
