number of lines displayed in drop-down list

Let's say you create a data validation rule/list in A1 and point it to a sizeable range of data (say B1:B100). When you click on cell A1, the drop-down window is pre-defined to be a certain size and will display only so many of the items (in my case 8 at a time) - with a scroller to the left that allows you to see the remaining choices.

Does anybody out there know of an easy way to change the settings to make the drop-down list a bit larger (to display say, 15 items at a time)?

    Thanks,

I'm not aware of a way to increase the number of visible choices in a Data Validation drop-down list. Using an ActiveX combobox (from the Controls Toolbox Toolbar in Excel 2003, or from the Developer|Controls|Insert|ActiveX Controls ribbon in Excel 2007) you can set the ListRows property to greater than 8.

Of course, you would need some code behind the combobox to perform similar to a data validation drop-down.
