    Hyperlink

    Hi,
Is there a way to create hyperlinks to specific sheets of a different workbook?
I am using Office 2000 and converting the workbooks to html.

    Thanks

    Hi Matty,

    You can certainly do this.

    1. In your originating sheet click Insert -> Hyperlink.
    2. Select 'Existing File or Webpage' at the left side of the Edit Hyperlink window
    3. Browse to and select your file (don't double-click it and don't click OK yet)
    4. Click the 'Bookmark..' button at the right side of the Edit Hyperlink window
    5. Select the Sheet you wish to hyperlink to, and you can even set which cell you want to go to in the Cell Reference box
    6. Click OK
    7. In the 'Text to Display' box, type what you want the link to say
    8. Click OK and you're done.

That doesn't appear to work for me.
At step 3, the "Bookmark" button is not functional with the "Link to File" window open. And after clicking OK in the "Link to File" window, I get the error message "There are no bookmarks in this document" when clicking "Bookmark" in the "Edit Hyperlink" screen.
Could you tell me the exact text required and I will attempt to type in the hyperlink manually,

    Thanks

I'm thinking the process must be different for Excel 2000 than for 2003 (which I use primarily).

In that case, open your other workbook (that you want to hyperlink to) and set the bookmark, then create the hyperlink in the other workbook and select that bookmark from the list.

Hopefully that works, otherwise someone with Excel 2000 is going to have to chime in.

    Paul,
    I appreciate the help.
Unfortunately, I don't think what I'm attempting to do is possible in 2000.
I tried several different manual text entries, got close, but it always hyperlinks to the sheet displayed when the workbook was saved.
I'm going to try a few more things, but am not hopeful.
    Thanks again,
    Matty
