Year to Date sum in one cell depending on the Month

Hi, I need a formula that gives me the sum of the months for one cell depending on the month. So in column A I would have a month selector, for B-M I would have January - December values. In column N I need a formula that looks at A and sums the months from January to and including the Month that is shown in A. For example if A shows July, I want it to sum Jan through July, but if the user changes A to September I want it now to sum Jan to Sept. Only get 7 if's per formula so I was wonding if there was a clever trick to do this.

There are a number of ways to handle this. I attached one variation in a workbook below:

You can sum columns per month, type the month number in cell D1 and the formula in cell F1 will sum everything from Jan to that month.
