selects all cells within that range

When in Excel, and after working for a while, if I click on a cell, it acts as if I am holding down the left mouse button.

So no matter where I move the cursor, it selects all cells within that range. If I move the cursor out of the work area to the toolbars, it just continues to scroll and select cells.

I close out excel (using task manager, the close button will not work) and restart it, it locks in again as soon as I select a cell.

I tried unlock the same by pressing combination of (F8 + Scroll Lock ) keys but it is not taking.

Please let us know how to solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

If the scroll lock is on or off, the same is happening.

    Good evening jsrinivasu

Sounds to me like a faulty mouse.
Try using a different mouse, see if that makes a difference.

    Hi jsrinivasu

Sounds like there's a problem with your touchpad buttons. Plug a mouse in and try using that to see if the problem persists.

If not, you know it's your laptop.
