group items in pivot table

Hi all;

Is it possible to automatically group items in a pivot table beyond numbers and dates? Say, for example I have two resources working together for one job, then seperately on others - and I want to know their cummulative time by each day. I have a file attached which may explain what I'm up against.

Seems like there's gotta be a way, thanks for your help

Only way I can think of is to burst out the data into the individual parts. Depending on your structure, you may be able to use code to do it, then make sure your pivot covers the entire range and recalculate.
