    Ok basically this calculator needs to be able to change a percentage of a number into another percentage of the same number with the user being able to choose both percentages. i.e. the first percentage is set to 80, the second to 50, the input is 8 so the output will be 5.

    The 2 drop down menues need to have the 20 different formula in each.

    I am not understanding the calculation. If the input number is 8, please explain how you get to the result of 5. Once I understand this, either I or someone else may be able to help.

    Ok i'll explain the best I can;

    8 is 80% of 10, 5 is 50% of 10

    the percentages will be in the drop down menus, so if the first option is set to 80%, the second to 50% and the input is 8, the output is 5, get it?

    Ok so if the first percentage is set to 60% and the second percentage is set to 40 percent and the input is 12 the output will be 8. Because 12 is 60% of 20 and 40% of 20 is 8.

    This is basically calculation, 12 / 60 x 100 / 100 x 40 = 8

    The actual formula would be A/B*100/100*C=D

    Please note the I don't want the options in the drop down menu to say 10%, 20%, 30% e.t.c. because it would be easy that way. I want them to say one think but have a different value.

    OK, see what you're getting at although you missed out the starting position on your first post i.e. 10 !!

    I can't see a purpose behind what you're trying to achieve and I certainly don't have an answer. Maybe someone else has a solution?

    The whole point is that you don't need to know the number they are percentages of. This calculator is for a game, at different level is takes different times to build things. If your looking at a game guide the times it gives are for level 1, but sometimes other level too hence the first option.

    The calculator will allow you to enter the level that the information is for
    e.g. level 2 96% build time
    and then the level you are at
    e.g level 6 84% build time
    and tell you the time to build that thing at your level.

    This can be done very easily using a piece of paper and a calculator but I will be using it for hundreds of calculations and uploading it to the net so that other people can use it.

    I wasn't asking if there was any point to it I was asking if or how I can do it.
