    Mark up formula

    i need help with this problem if anyone is kind enough to assist me

    i have a project and i am making a spreadsheet for a make believe green grocers. i have a retail price and a whole sale price

    to work out the retail price i need to sue this forumula

    retail price = wholesaleprice + x% of wholesale price

    im stuck, what i have done is declared the percent value on the page, which can be changed at any time, how do i then substitue this value in to the formula (and most importantly, what is the formula!!!)

    thanks peeps, probs a really easy question but i am new to this :p

    something like:

    =A1+A1*B1

    where A1 houses wholesale price and B1 house percentage (represented as percent)
    Where there is a will there are many ways.

    A1 = wholesale price
    B1 = 10%
    C1 =A1+(A1*B1)

    when i declare my variable (x) do i have to declare it as just an integer or as a percent i.e

    mark up = 10
    mark up = 10%

    You would either change the format of your percent cell to Percent or you incorporate the percentage in the formula...

    e.g. =X1+Y1*X1%
