    Printing a custom report

I have an 8 column spreadsheet, all fields non-numerical. One is a date column. The problem is the 7th column and 8th column. This is because the fields usually have multiple entries, so unlike all the other columns only having a single line entry, the 7th column can be the same or have as many as 8 lines.

I want to be able to print a weekly report for a date range -- example: Oct 8 to Oct 12. And have this report sort by each name in the G column. In the attached example, it would list for Ace Job 1, Job 2, and Job 3. For Baker it would only show Job 1. For Code, it would show Job 1 and Job 2. Note also that, for example, Ace shows John, Ron, and Jesse in Column 8. It has to pick up those respective names also.

I can't view your pdf attachment, it's just a grey sheet. You should attach a zipped workbook instead anyway: In Windows Explorer, right click the file, select "send to..." , select compressed folder.

    Hi Terrance,

I suggest changing your layout slightly to change the current sheet into a "database"/input only sheet & using a separate Pivot Table sheet for your weekly reporting.

To convert this sheet to function more as a "database" fill the blank rows of columns A to F with the data from the first row of each job.
If you want to keep the same appearance that you currently have you could use conditional formatting on columns A-F to make the font the same colour as the background (eg white).
For example, select cells A2:F?, [alt+o+d], choose "cell value is" & "equal to", type "=A1", click on Format & change the colour to white, & then [ok] all the way out.

For Pivot Table suggestions, try [F1] & look them up or check them out at Debra's site:

As Ben suggests, if you have any more questions it would be easier for us to help if you attach a zipped version of your file.
