Hi

I have two excel documents that i require to be linked. The first one is a list of employees with the hours of work pr week. The other one is a summary of this.

The format of the employee list is set out with employee names down the lft hand side by weekly basis

What i would like in the summary sheet is a function where you can select the date from a drop down list and it displays the value from the employee worksheet for that particular date.

First you would need to create your drop donwn list using data validation. Next you would use the vlookup function to find the apropriate data for each week. HTH
