use and update cell info between workbooks

I know how to write formulas that allow data from one cell in a worksheet to be used in a cell in another worksheet, but can't find out how to use data from a cell in a workbook in a cell in a different workbook. These workbooks are in different folders. Any help is appreciated.

Try this, open workbook 1 and 2, if you want data from workbook 2 in workbook 1, then select a cell in workbook 1, press the =, then go to workbook 2 and select the cell with the data, press enter.

You should now see in the formula bar the name of workbook 2 + cell reference. Now save and close both workbooks, open workbook 1, select the same cell, you will now see the full path in the formula bar for the data from workbook 2.
