    deleting all error characters

I'm sure you're all familiar with that weird little error rectangle. Well, my spreadsheet is peppered with it. I'm not sure why, but since it was merged from data from countless different sources, it could be a number of reasons.

I'm trying to find a quick way to delete instances of it, since it is screws up the mail merge in Word. I would just use find and replace, but I don't know how to generate that character! I can't find it in symbols either. Any ideas on this one?

    Thanks as usual,
    Zach

In a vacant column. Then copy the column, and paste values over the original data.
