    drag formula

is there a way to drag a formula without using the mouse? dragging over say 1000+ cells can be tedious. can it be made to 'drag' for a given number of cells, or to just go on indefinitely?

    thanks in advance

    Try this.

    Say your formula in A1.

Select A1 > in the name box next to the formula bar Type A1:A100 (or your end range) > Edit > fill > Down

Or if you have data in Col A and Formula in Col b then double click the fill handle

If you have data in the adjoining cells (say column A) and you are inputting your formula in column B, then a quick solution is to enter your data in B1, then double-click on the little black box in the lower right corner of the cell and it will auto-fill down in a nano-second!

    Re: drag formula

When using the vlookup formula, if you drag the forumla across multiple columns and you want to change the column index number rather than have it remain the same, is there a way to do this without manually changing the number in all the cells?
