Find winning numbers

Hi guys,

firstly if I have posted in the wrong place I appolgise in advance. I need a little help, I have a worksheet full of lottery lines for a syndicate I'm trying to use the find function so that when I type the winning numbersa into allocated cells all the matching numbers are highlighted on the sheet. I know this is probably a very simple action but I would really appreciate any help.

Assuming your winning numbers are listed in a vertical or horizontal range and your lottery numbers are in a table format in the worksheet....

select the winning numbers and go to Insert|Name|Define and in the top field type in the word "Results" without quotes. Then click Ok.

Now select the range housing all the lottery numbers... go to Format|Conditional Formatting.... select Formula Is from 1st drop down menu and enter formula:

=Match(A1,Results,0) where A1 is the top-left most cell in your selection of lottery numbers.

Click Format and choose a colour from the Pattern tab....

Click Ok... and clikc Ok again to finish...

the matches should be highlighted.
