    Smile Multiple cell/2-column formula problem

I am stuck finding a formula to do the following:

Column A labelled Status contains either R or A
Column B labelled Result contains either F or P

I need Column C to return the following on each row:

If Status cell = R and Result cell = F then give me “Fail2” or If Status cell = R and Result cell = P then give me “Pass2” or If Status cell = A and Result cell = F then give me “Fail1” or If Status cell = A and Result cell = P then give me “Pass1”

I have tried for hours and would be so grateful for help
    Many thanks

    Hi Daffs, try:

In your request, I think you kept mixing up Status values and Result values based on your first statements that Status's can be R or P and Results can be F or A. (In your request you say things like If Status cell = R and Result cell = P which shouldn't happen if only Status can be R or P.

If my formula doesn't work for you, try to be more clear and precise. You get what you ask for here.
