Playing Video using SnagIt software in Excel

I inserted a video (A Snagit type - avi). It works okay when I play through any video player on my pc, but when I click on the video part in the excel book, it plays nice full size but not so clear.??

Played with different things but can't figure why its not as good.

    Hello jerryjaysr,

I changed your title in hopes that someone who has the same third party software can answer your question. It seems to me SnagIt should have a "ReadMe" file that might talk about resizing the video playback. Also check if there is an instruction manual in the program folder. It may have some information as well.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Thanks

The software seems to be good...I especially like rcordig all of the mose moves, clicks and such to run my excel file...

Just if I could get a better final product would be great. File plays nicely though when I run it directly off my hard drive.

    Thanks again - JJ

before capturing a video with snag it
it is possible to change the video quality
    select
'record a video of the screen'
now on the right hand side there is the output box where you select output to file or whatever.
next to that is a smaller box which if clicked gives 'video output' properties
on the video file tab -uncheck auto configure
you can then edit video set up options.
i have no idea what will improve it but try chosing another compressor from drop down,or change frame rate,or perhaps change compression quality,
    trial and error i'm afraid.

    Thanks

I will try that tonight when I get home.

I tried playing the video I amde and it is looking for the file.

I only brought the excel file not the video file (as it is alittle big) and when I opened the book the pic is there but no video. I did this:

Insert>object>create from file, then I inserted the avi file. Worked okay (althought alittle blurry on a few things)

It must not have been embeded??

When I put my mouse on the file I did see this in the formula box:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    =EMBED("Video Clip","")
Please Login or Register to view this content.
So I thought it would be saved with the file???
