Missing reference in a named range

I got a workbook from a distant co-worker in europe, and they have updated this sheet from the old obsolete Frech franc to Euros (I'm in the US, but we buy from europe so Euro is desired).
The pricing information in the old version was on a worksheet within the workbook, and the new version has the pricing information in a separate linked sheet. OK, I like that.
I have found in the new workbook some references to the old deleted sheet within the workbook. I want to update the euro pricing for 2008 and am finding that the named range where that data should be is gone. The name is on the list, but, it refers to a sheet that is gone. I cannot unhide any sheets, and I have turned the protection off.
I need to find the cell where the old data lies (can anyone help with that, it is in a sheet that is no longer a part of the workbook) so I can update it, or should I just replace all the missing references to a new price table?
    Thanks in advance-

PS, I guess I can replace the references no problem, but, if you delete a sheet that is referred to in a formula, Why do I have a value there, rather than an error?
    Just 66 horns
Mine goes beep beep cuz the horns are from a 66 (beetle)

    Hi

If the name refers to a sheet that is not visible, but does not give an error, it may have been very hidden (xlveryhidden).

From the range name, can you determine the sheet name that it should reference?

If so then perhaps run some code like

Please Login or Register to view this content.
and see if the sheet appears.
