Pretty much as per the title. I'm using Excel 2000 and frequently I am typing out a formula only to click enter and have the forumula simply display in the cell (treating it like text).

Changing the cell properties to 'text', 'number', 'general' doesn't seem to fix the problem.

I have actually had a situation where two cells use exactly the same formula, both marked as "text" **. One cell displays the formula, the thus displays the answer. Modifiying the cell which displays the forumla can sometimes correct the problem, but this isn't because of a formula error, this I am sure of. What is the cause of this, and is there a way of correcting it?

** I need to because some of my references in the equation are for example 92F, I've marked them all as '92F for exmaple so the program recognises all codes as text, even codes which are only numbers, e.g. 92 (typed as '92))
