if the relationships are always the same, you could do it by creating a table of the corresponding values and use VLOOKUP to complete the second cell.

    hi Ed,
i have tried it worked only within the same workbook i wanted to have this effect even if i enter in another workbook anytime i mean i just want to fix this relationship forever so when ever i type it in any workbook in excel it appears automatically e-g,

TO1234 this is our product code and its origenal part is ASD456 and i wanna fix this relationship that whenever i enter our product code TO1234 the origenal part no come up in the next cell automatically.

do u think its possible in excel.
    many thanks for ur help.

Lookup can work across workbooks provided you provide the filepath as part of the lookup formula.

So if you had another workbook named Parts, and the table was called partstable the formula would be something like
