Find a Word in Column A & change the background & Text to Black

Hello again, I have one finall question

I need to set up a sheet that is smart enough to find NAMES in column A (ex. VISA, MASTERCARD, American Express, etc.) then change their cell color to a specific color that I assign for each name

So if someone later on adds the word VISA in a new cell in this sheet then automatically that cell becomes blue, if they enter MASTERCARD then the cell turns Green and so on ...

    Thank you

Can you show us what you're doing? Where you have the chart of these strings and the color designations?

Post up a sample sheet and point out your key cell(s) and charts.

    EDIT:

Also, your other post is similar and the answer given there COULD be adapted to a conditional format for the cell in question.

Look up conditional formatting and see if the formula/solution offered previously can work for this need, too. You would need to settle on 3 colors for this in Excel 2003.

Thank you for your reply. Problem is that I need more than Conditional formating. As you said, I am limited to 3 conditions and what I need requires more than 100 conditions. I have a chart that has many different company names and infront (in column B) i have some number value.

Basically what I need can be done with Conditinal formating but I need alot more than 3

You don't have even 100 colors

Other thing: with using too many colors you lose point of having colors...

But, for more info you will need to give more inputs... And for your request best way is to put example workbook.
