Excel files will not open

Hello,
I have several excel files that will not open in excel from its location on my Hard drive. The excel application will open up, but The page is blank. but if i go to file and click on the previously opened extension, or if i got to file open and select the file it works and opens fine. Weird. This just started this morning. These files opened fine yesterday. Any ideas that can help me? Thank you!
