Excell spreadsheet converting numbers to exponents

I have a *.csv file, that I want to edit through Excel, and each time I open it, it converts my phone number and social security numbers to exponents. Is there a way to turn this off/prevent this?

    Hi,

Yes, when you import the CSV file, make sure you choose the TEXT option for the field in question when you get to that parameter in the wizard.

The first time I import that, it works, but each subsequent time, it changes the field to an exponent

Are you sure you're selecting the field to text in the import wizard, and not the column in the sheet you're importing it to? I think it's step 3 of the wizard where you can set the column data format. Since it works the first time you import I can see no reason why it won't work on other occasions.
