Cell coloring makes the cell border dissapear

    Hi,
I have an employee who, in a very important spreadsheet, has colored certain cells for emphasis. However, when she did that, it erased the cell border. Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Does it actually make a difference in the grand scheme of things?

    Thank you?

When you say it erased the cell border, I'm guessing that what you mean is that you can no longer see the gridlines around the coloured cells. You can overcome this by selecting Format Cells, Click on the Border tab and select the required option. In order to be consistent with your formatting you can turn the Gridline option off by going in to Tools Options and from memory I think it's on the General or View tab there's a check box which you uncheck.

It depends on what you mean by does it make a difference. It won't corrupt any data but the presentation of the data may be spoilt.

    Hope this helps

The explicit border you put around your color cells can be colored. The lightest grey matches the other grid lines on my machine, yours may vary.
