    Format Cells?

    I have some cells that appear with a formula ="54460"

    I have a variety of 5 digit numbers that I would like to replicate in this same formula or format. Right now the numbers appear as 54440 or 54430 without the qoutes and = sign.

    I have tried format painter and paste special but am having no success getting the numbers into the same formula ="xxxxx". How could I do this quickly. I have over 1000 numbers to do.

    Thanks,

    Maybe a custom format

    "=''"#####"''"

    Custom Format

    I cant seem to get the custom format to work properly either. When I do the quotes for the number sign it puts ="#####" or ='54450' with the qoutes in.

    Copy this format

    "=''"#####"''"
    and paste into the format box

    Note it not a quote mark but two Apostrophe's so that why you may not have being able to get it to work

    Yes you are correct that did it but that still doesn't help me because I explained the situation wrong initially.

    I should have said in the formula box it says ="54460" but on the cell itself it says 54460 with no quotes. I then have another formula that takes this number and puts in somewhere else.

    Now they have changed something in the way the number comes accross and in the formula box it only comes across as a regular number ie 54460.

    I have tried changing the numbers to text but that is not the answer. Do you have any other suggestions. Sorry I did not explain this right initially.

    Thanks

    Try

    Ctrl + H > in the find box enter " and leave the replace box empty > replace all
