create a dropdown list that when I choose a title such as "cleaner" the adjacent cell

    Hi folks,

I'm working on a project that I need some help with a certain formula. This is what I am trying to acheive.

I want to create a dropdown list that when I choose a title such as "cleaner" the adjacent cells will automatically input the rates for a cleaner, as displayed below. When i choose "labourer" on the drop down list, the rates for a labourer will automatically show in the adjacent cells.

    Description Rate Overtime Rate
    Cleaner 25.00 37.50
    Labourer 30.00 35.00

    Can someone help?

Thanks! I looked up VLOOKUP and might need to explain further.

I may have many different types of positions in my drop down ie. labourer, cleaner, carpenter, electrician. When any of these is chosen from the drop down then the rates will apprear in the neighboring cells or in the cells I want the rates to appear.

Does VLOOKUP still sound like the right formaula?
