Good afternoon all,

I was hoping that you guys would be able to help with a question I have about how the personal data saved in Excel documents can interact with PJL commands on an HP printer driver. I'm a Tech Consultant for IT provider in the UK and my expertise is on the printer side, I'm sorry to say I have no idea about how Excel works!

The issue is with persistent personal data in Excel shared workbooks and their interaction with the Job Storage feature on HP Multi function printers and is as follows:

User A creates a shared workbook or edits an existing shared workbook and saves it in a shared folder/drive. User B opens the file and sends it to print at an HP MFP device with the Job Storage feature enabled (which means that each user has a PIN number assigned to them that they need to enter at the device before they can print). When User B enters his PIN it shows as incorrect, only when he enters the PIN of User A will it be released.

The PJL command that holds the users PIN (@PJL HOLDKEY="xxxx") for User B seems to be being overwritten by the value from User A (the document creator/editor).

Excel Version is Office Excel 2003, O/S is XP Pro SP2 and printer drivers and firmware are all the latest revision. The model of device is an HP LaserJet 4345MFP.

So my question to you is is there a way of stripping the printer related personal data from an excel sheet whilst retaining such info as 'last edited by...' etc which is used?

Apologies if this makes little sense - if anybody would like any further information then please let me know, and thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer.
