how to read a calendar formula to hightlight cells?

I downloaded this calendar template and I was wondering if there is away that if I enter a date some place else on the sheet that it could hightlight the cell in a a certain color.

http://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplat...-calendar.html

Here is what is what shows up in the cell for February 3rd =IF(J24="","",IF(MONTH(J24+1)<>MONTH(J24),"",J24+1))

So if I enter 2-3-2014 in another cell how could I have the cell in the calendar turn green?

You don't say which calendar you downloaded. Scroll down on that site to the Yearly Event calendar - it seems to do what you want.

Hope this helps.

It was the first yearly one. The problem with using another one is I would have to redo the whole thing and it's almost done. Not a big deal if it can't be done it would just make it a little easier

Have you tried using Conditional Formatting...
New Rule
Use Formula
=A1=totday()
where A1 is the cell ref of your 1st date - adjust accordingly
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
