    Pivottables

    Hello everyone,

I am having difficulty maintaining the formatting on my Pivot table. As soon as the table is refreshed, it goes back to its original format. Also when filtering a field and asking to sort, it just won't do it.....I don't know what to do.

Can someone help? Or advise a better way to create reports from a database using other than Pivot tables?

    Thank you.

There is no better way than pivots!

One thing you can do is to create an update button that as well as refreshing the pivot, fixes the format of the rows/columns.

As for the sort. How are you sorting the fields? Using the Pivot field sort or the option in the data tab? You should use the one embeded in the pivot.

Can you zip a smal sample of your database and pivot and post it? (I could help you create the button but need visual aid or a description of how is the format being changed after updating- Column numbers, etc)
