Keeping the formula value

If I use a function to determine a value of a cell. Is there a way to make the new value permanent so that it doesnt require the function any more? For example: =sum(c9*c.1) , but I want change the cell to just read 40 not =sum(c9*.1) because I am deleting column 9. Thanks - Don

Type the value over the formula or copy, paste special, values.
