    Unhappy my brain is stuck

Hi, I want to create a formula that is both value and time based. For example, I want the "IF" formula to give me a value (say 1) if the argument is greater than, say 12, and then less than 5 but it has to be in a set sequence. So it would read value greater than 12, then less than 5, then greater than 12, and so on. Failure could result from three possibilities: the value is not greater than 12, the value is not less than 5 or the sequence is not followed, i.e., greater than, less than, greater than, and so on. I can't figure it out. Help!
