Can excel do this for me?

This may be an easy question. I'm not very software savvy.

I manage a store with a small sales staff of 4-5 people. Right now, everything is logged, tracked, figured, with pen and paper.

I'm looking for a software that i can load on my laptop and use at work to simplify certain tasks.

    1. Track each salespersons # of customers, and percentage of those he/she sold. I need this to do this daily and show end of week totals.

    2. Instead of logging everything on paper after every sale, i'd like the salespeople to be able to use the software after every sale to log: customer name, salesperson, subtotal, whether the product went out or is still in store, and the total and how it was paid: credit card, check, cash, etc. I also need this to give daily reports and weekending.

For instance, if one column is for new sales subtotals i would like to log each individual sale and have the column total update after each added sale.

I'd like to hook a printer up and be able to print out my daily and weekly numbers.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I should think you could use Excel for this, but there are systems already available. I should lookup "Epos" systems, they supply this sort of thing for small retailers.

G'day and Welcome to the forum.

There would be a excel program written out there somewhere.

Have you try in Google Search
and type in the keywords free point of sale software or freeware point of sale or freeware excel point of sale.

I hope you will find the right one, but even better that someone form this forum got one.

Best of Luck from one retailer to another.
