retaining cell layout when copying

when i copy and paste cells around a worksheet or to another worksheet, is there a way i can retain the cell width and height like the original??

You can paste special to set column width the same (or set up a macro to do so). There is no similar function for row height although when you paste, it will paste the formatting which will affect row height unless it was manually set (e.g. font size affects row height as does word wrapping).

thanks for the prompt reply. i found that when i used your method of the paste special (column widths), the cell heights also maintained their original size. cheers!
