    Searching for Hard Format Codes

I have a column that I import into excel that is unfortunately downloaded with mixed data types. It has numbers and text so when it gets into excel, it already has the hard format code included but not in front of any numbers.
    (ex: ',^,")
    Work Order
    6859987
    'SYS8976

I've searched in Word, but don't see an option in Excel.

Is this possible? Problem I have is that when I try to import into Access database, it "dies" on the datatype conversion and deletes this field when it gets to it. If I upload numbers first it's ok, till it get to alpha data. And vice versa.

    Thanks

One way is to use search and replace. Search for ' and replace it with nothing.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:
