How are you going to select those names? Are they listed in a table whereby the 400 rows of names you want have the same identifying characteristic in one of the columns, and which doesn't appear in any of the other 4600 rows.

Or in other words are you able to filter the 5000 rows and display the 400 you need. In which case when you've filtered the rows just select and copy all the rows, open a new blank workbook and copy them into it.
