    Advanced Filter problem

Now I am probably being thick but I am stuck.

When I apply the advanced filter it seems to find every single entry on the list. Even the ones that don't match the filtering criteria.

I have set the headings for the criteria to be exactly the same as the table headings.
I have ensured that there is a gap between the criteria and the table. (2 in fact)
I have included/excluded the headings of both criteria and table to no avail.

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Can't tell what you're doing wrong until I see what you did. Sounds like you are doing it right. Attach an example of what you are doing (as xls or zipped) and we can help you.

Here you go. Hope I've done that right.

Hopefully I have also managed to remove any personal information from it, lol.

I wish to be able to filter the table by both Type and Modality. Preferably also getting my filtering criteria from another location.

    Please find my mistake.

I think your mistake was making the criteria range up to row 3. You should only cover A1:E2.

    OK, step 2.

Just to complicate things further, I would like to be able for my receptionists to choose the options on the 'Select' worksheet, click on 'Search', the macro would then perform the necessary advanced filtering on the data on the second sheet and for the results to be displayed back on the first sheet.

    Can this be done?

If it can, please explain in idiot speak so I might learn :D
I have tried looking at many supposed examples and for once I can't suss out how to even get started for myself.

I have attached the file below.

Think I've actually sussed it now.

Would still like to see how others would have done it though.
