    how to identify extra items & duplicate respectively

    hiii

    i am a beginer in exel, i' ve a problem regarding of updating a sheet.
    i listed and sends several customer id with their name to my Boss, as because of he did not have latest update he, sends another sheet and ordered me to compare both sheet identify the new names with ids. This lists are more than 2000 name and id.

    i have cut paste both the list them in same sheet and check them manualy, it is quite hectic, so please help me. I hard VLOOKUP can be used in this kind of poblems. how could be it use in thif contex tell me.........

    i attached a miniform of that list in a single sheet.

    Guru,

    This can be done with vlookup and reverse vlookup.....with both data....

    take a look into the file attached

    Here's a nice code that will color the matching cells

    Or with out code you can select column B then go to formatting,conditional formatting,formula is, and enter the formula
    =MATCH(B3,$E:$E,0)
    then select the format
