Using Form Object "Check Box" In Cells

I am creating a trianing spreadsheet. each employee has his own row, and then each column is for a specific training class. i want to put the check mark form object in each cell -- so that if the cell is checked, of course this indicates that the individual has had this particular training.

I am having trouble with the check mark object. It's strange -- it seems to be purely cosmetic. The check mark object does not seem to become an actual part of the cell -- I want the check mark object to belong to the cell.

Is there a way to make the check mark object actually hook-up to the cell?

Cause when I move the cell around or insert a row or anything, it seems to mess-up the check mark objects -- they float around on the spreadhsheet in an odd fashion.
Perhaps I should not even us the check mark object? But, it does look very nice!

Please, I appreciate anyone's help. thank you! heather

The best way to achieve this is to not use check boxes, but to format the column's Font as marlett, then use "a" in the cell. This will display as a check mark.
    Hope that helps.

Here's some code that creates a checkmark when you doubleclick on a cell. The code goes in the individual spreadsheet (right click on the tab and select "View code")

You can also have the code use marlett and "a" as roy suggested. My attached example has one sheet using the above code and another using marlett.

Let me know if you try this and it works for you.

Smile IT WORKS! Thank you very much!

This is beautiful! I am using marlett font and "a" -- this is a perfect solution to my problem. One million thanks!
