    Notification of upcoming dates

I need a way to get automatic notices that there are upcoming dates/appointments contained in a spreadsheet I am using to track expiration dates.
    Any suggestions?

You can use conditional formatting to make a certain cell(s) change to blue, yellow, red as that date is within 10, 5 or 0 days.

The conditional formatting won't require any VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) but getting email notification would require that. The sheet would need to be opened in order for anything to happen so email notification might be redundant? I have never set up email notification through VBA but I'm sure some of the people here could.

Thank you very much. I searched the help section and found out how to use the conditional formating to change the cell fill colors. It worked splendidly.
