    Opening a worksheet only opens a blank page.

    When I open a worksheet direct from my desktop it only opens a blank page until I reduce the page then the worksheet springs to life! Can anyone suggest a solution, has anyone else ever seen this before.
    Thanks Phil

    try this first
    open a command prompt
    then enter
    Excel.exe /unregserver
    return

    after that enter
    Excel.exe /regserver
    return

    any add-ins will have to be reactivated

    Thanks Martin, but no good. Uninstalled and restalled excel and its still doing it. The excel page opens but not the workbook, until I reduce or full size the page, that by the way is the only activity open to me! Mental.

    hmmm, interesting...

    These are just guesses but may help...

    Are there any macros in the file?
    If so, does including the below code in the "thisworkbook" module help?
    (if a macro by this name already exist enter the below as the last line of code in the macro)

    Are there any files or Templates with a blank sheet listed under Tools - Options - General - "at start up, open all files in:"?
    Does the behaviour change if these are removed?

    edit:
    Are there any forms of protection on the files, eg worksheet, workbook structure?
