    creating letters.....

    Hi all,

    I have a 4 column file like

    docode agcode name polno.
    111 1554 abc 2569
    111 1254 sf 3669
    111 1548 dsf 3665
    222 1254 dsf 6598
    222 2546 erf 6655

    I want to create letters docode order(grouping the same docode) like...

    dear sir,

    The following policies were returned undelivered...

    111 ............
    111.............
    111.............

    this is for your info.

    --xyz

    Every letter should be skipped at the end of docode(group).

    Kindly help me.

    You may need to explain in a bit more detail. It sounds like you're wanting to perform a mailmerge using MS Word, which is strictly outside the remit of this group.

    However how are you going to link the name field (abc, sf, dsf..) etc to a postal name and address. Have you got a table of this data elsewhere?

    In addition you say the letter should be skipped at the end of a docode group. What do you mean by this? In a mailmerge it would be more usual to skip a letter at the end of each name/address. Take name dsf for instance which has two docodes. Do you expect one letter or two?

    If you come back with these answers we can probably help a little further.
