    Advanced Filtering Help

    Hi all,

I'm creating a spreadsheet on the portfolio companies owned by Private Equity firms.

Some portfolio companies are owned by multiple Private Equity Firms. If I'm adding a drop down filter, is there a way I can put multiple PE firms in a cell but have the filter read them individually so I could still filter by individual firms and not by all four firms grouped into one?

Attached is the spreadsheet for further clarification.

    Thanks.

(I'm having the same problem for Contact 1 and Contact 2)

What i would do is select a custom auto filter:
    contains *Private Equity firm 1*

The wildcards will scan the entire contents of the cell. Start, middle or end.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
