    Cutting down large amount of data

    Hi, I have a large amount of data which I would like to cut down so that it's easier to manage.

    The data that I was given consists of about 20 fields of various parameters that are recorded every 0.5 seconds, from 00:00 midnight, to 23:59:59 midnight the next day.

    That makes 172,800 rows of data, which is just a little bit too much for me to handle.

    I am wondering if there's an easy way to ask excel to say, take the average of every 120 rows of data (so that I get the average value for each minute in the day), or some other method of reducing the number of data points that I have.

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.

    =AVERAGE(OFFSET(A$1, 120 * (ROW() - 1), 0, 120))

    and copy down 1440 rows.
