    Help with Splitting Postcodes

    Hi

    I am new to this website....

    I am looking for help in splitting postcodes in an excel spreadsheet.

    I have the data as eg. RG22 4LZ
    RG5 5WR

    I want to add another column with only the first bit showing eg. RG22 or RG5.

    Can anyone advise please.

    Try:

    =Left(A1,Find(" ",A1)-1)

    copied down

    where A1 is the first postal code to manipulate.
