Extracting data from pivot table??

I am trying to format a dataset (from double clicking a cell in a pivot table) and I need the payroll number from the pivot table to automatically appear on the dataset if at all possible.

If I double click on grant total (see below) it creates a new sheet with all the figures amounting to the total but I was wondering if there is any way of referencing the pivot table so that it automatically inserts the payroll number into the new sheet thats created.


Payroll Grand Total
5555 £1004
6666 £2004
7777 £3004

any help would be greatly appreciated.

u have to use getPivotdata function

or you can just select the cell where you want to place the value
type =
and then select the field you want in your pivot table.. hit Enter

It should have generated the getpivotdata command for you...
