    Changing a string within a string

    I'm a new user to spreadsheets. I'm really not sure how to even ask this question, so I will give an example.
    I have multiple cell entries that are all the same except for the final few numbers:

    abctest=userid=123
    abctest=userid=124
    abctest=userid=125

    I need to change the string "userid" in each cell entry.

    abctest=can2=123
    abctest=can2=124
    abctest=can2=125

    Is there any way this can be done without having to go into each cell entry and change it manually over 352 entries?

    I hope this questions is clear enough for someone to reply.

    Many thanks.

    Hi, and welcome to the forum

    Yes extremely clear thank you. Would that all posts were so
    Just select the whole range, or whole column and use Edit Find Replace All from the menu, specifying "userid" as the find string and "can2' as the replace string.

    You could also do it with a string function in the cells to the right, that slice the original string and rebuild it with the can2 string in the middle. The Find/replace is simpler though.
