    Date Formating

    Hi,

    When formatting cells to dates is there anyway to add/change the format choices that are available?

    I want an Australian date format: dd/mm/yyyy. However in the excel format options there is only American formatting (month first): mm/dd/yyyy or mm/dd/yy etc.

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi HammerTime, and welcome to the forum.

    You can create your own 'Custom' formats in the Cell Formatting dialog window.

    1. Select the cell(s) you wish to format
    2. Press CTRL+1 (or Format -> Cells...)
    3. On the 'Number' tab, select the category 'Custom'
    4. In the box below 'Type:', key in: dd/mm/yyyy
    5. Click OK

    That should do it!

    Hi HammerTime,

    There are custom options for formatting which you could define yourself.

    Simply type dd/mm/yyyy in the custom field.
