How to get information from other xls files

Hi,

I can get information from other excel files, but the problem it`s that I can`t do that if the way of the file it is in other place, like this:

A1 it is: ='C:\Files\[Pasta1.xls]Plan1'!$A$1
and it returns: zalemans


but if I want to put A1 as the way to get other cells, like:
A1 it is: 'C:\Files\[Pasta1.xls]Plan1'!$A$1
B1: =CONCATENATE(A1;"2")

how can I make it work?

What are you expecting in B1?

I want it to indicate the place to the file
I'll have multiple files from diferent years... something like: zalemans 2006, brother 2006, zalemans 2007, brother 2007.....

so there are cells for me to put the year and the name of the file, then another cell concatenate the address of the file, but when I want to get to the file it doesn't read it...

like if I want A1 cell to be:
2*2

and B1 to be:
=A1

it won't calculate 2*2, it will just print "2*2"
I think that if I can calc A1 in the cell B2 would be the same thing for the first problem.
